    M-am gandit ca daca avem Next Gen Xbox: zvonuri si discutii, sa fie un loc si pentru urmatorul PlayStation.

    Ieri Nishino, president si CEO SIE, a raspuns asa cand a fost intrebat daca urmatoarea generatie va fi cloud gaming:

    Zvonurile spun ca va fi si o portabila. Ceva detalii de la KeplerL2:
    KeplerL2: There is no planned Z3 lineup for AMD's next-gen APUs. The next OEM handheld APU lineup (if it happens at all, as AMD seems to be losing interest in this market) will be with their next-next-gen lineup in 2029. The only AMD handheld with AI upscaling anytime soon will be the Playstation handheld.

    KeplerL2: Handheld only has 1/3 the memory bandwidth of the PS5 (although more cache and improved memory compression), it's pretty obvious that a mode that cuts bandwidth in half is meant to simulate the handheld.

    RDNA5 or RDNA6 though? Isn't this a spin off of the PS6 die?
    KeplerL2: Both are a fork of gfx13 (RDNA5/UDNA/whatever AMD decides to call it)

    how does it compare to PS5 GPU again (main bandwidth abuser)?

    PlayStation "Orion" (PS6 Home Console):
    -Chiplet Design, with some mention of possibly utilizing "Navi 5" Desktop chiplets.
    -Backwards Compatibility to PS5 and PS4 Generations. (no mention of PS3)
    -Heavy Emphasis on Cost Constraints, and keeping power lower than PS5.
    -Manufacturing Planned for Mid-2027, with a likely Fall 2027 or Early-2028 Release Date.
    -160W TBP
    -8 x Zen 6 (or later) Cores
    -40-48 RDNA 5 Compute Units @ 3GHz+
    -160-bit or 192-bit bus w/ GDDR7@32GT/s+-
    -Rasterisation Performance estimated to be ~3x PS5 (Ray Tracing Uplift Expected to be Higher)

    *Because Canis is verified to be on 3nm, and Magnus is on 3nm - It is believed this is 3nm as well.

    *It's clear that PS6 "Orion" started as a chiplet design that looked kinda like an RDNA 3 layout, but it's also clear that AMD was trying to convince Sony to share dies with desktop...so it's very possible that the final design could use AT3 or AT (like XBOX Magnus), and therefore it could end up getting more than 48 Compute Units...but likely the same or less than XBOX.
    PlayStation "Canis" (PS6 Handheld):
    -Monolithic 3nm Die (He was able to verify THIS in modern documents)
    -Backwards Compatibility to PS5 and PS4 Generations. (no mention of PS3)
    -Canis includes a MicroSD Slot, M.2 SSD Slot, Haptic Vibration, Dual Mics, and a Touchscreen.
    -Specifically, a diagram states that the USB-C port has video out capabilities.
    -Manufacturing Planned for Mid-2027, with a likely Fall 2027 or Early-2028 Release Date.
    -15W TBP
    -4 x Zen 6c Cores
    -12-20 RDNA 5 Compute Units @ 1.6-2GHz
    -128-bit bus w/ LPDDR5X-7500+
    -Rasterization Performance estimated to be ~0.5x PS5 (RT Expected to be higher than this)

    *Canis should beat XBOX Ally X in performance, but it doesn't come off as a "powerhouse".

    Daca urmatoarea generatie de playstation va fi facuta cum a fost si ps5/ps5pro cand va iesi va avea toate sansele sa fie deja depasita chiar de la lansare.

    Eu am niste dubii privind compatibilitatea cu PS5, adica sa nu existe si sa functioneze PS5 si PS6 in paralel. Pot face asta.... Exemplul cel mai bun este PS3 vs PS4.
    Asa "depasit" cum e PS5 are in librarie zeci de jocuri excelente. Pentru mine este cea mai buna optiune si cea mai buna generatie de pana acum. Preturile la jocuri sunt bune versus Steam si Nintendo Switch iar performanta este decenta.

    100% va fi backwards compatible dmdv, chiar si cu ps4. Cat despre preturi, eu stiam ca steam e top la preturi, ma mir ca spui ca sony sunt mai okey la pricing, poate doar SH

    Fata de Steam sunt okay la pricing insa eu ma refer retail in principiu. Astepti cateva luni si au pret mai bun si pe store.
    Exemplu concret, MGS Delta. E 71 eur acum. Pe Steam e 80
