Aici discutam despre noul program Disc to Digital, prin care putem primi licente pentru varianta digitala a unor jocuri ce le avem pe disc.

Momentan e in teste pentru Xbox Insiders: Your Discs. Now Also Digital.:

Players have spent decades building their XBOX libraries. Some games were purchased on disc. Some were purchased digitally. Many span multiple generations of hardware.

Our goal is to make it easier for those libraries to move forward with players.

Today we are introducing a feature that brings the benefits of digital to physical discs, giving players more flexibility in how they access and play supported games across the XBOX ecosystem. XBOX Insiders can begin testing next week on August 31.

This is part of our broader commitment to game preservation. As technology, devices, and distribution continue to evolve, preserving access to the games people own matters more than ever.

Most XBOX One and XBOX Series X disc-based games support this new feature. Players can claim a digital entitlement by inserting a supported disc into an XBOX One or XBOX Series X console and launching the game. Once the entitlement is claimed, you can experience the benefits of digital, including XBOX Play Anywhere and XBOX Cloud Gaming where supported, while your physical disc continues to work exactly as it always has.

We’re starting with thousands of titles, and we’ll continue to add more over time. While not every title will be available at launch, this is an important step toward a future where players can have greater confidence that the games they buy remain with them for years to come.

De retinut:
- doar discuri de Xbox One si Series, fara OG Xbox sau Xbox 360
- disponibilitate limitata - "Eligibility may vary due to technical, licensing, publishing, manufacturing, or other factors. Microsoft may also change eligibility over time."
- "Year-one discs do not convert. A disc pressed with the VOL000038 volume label and no ISO descriptor is refused whatever the game — roughly everything from the Xbox One launch through about November 2014." (sursa: XCT)
- pur si simplu introduci discul si iti va aparea un mesaj ca ai primit licenta digitala in contul tau
- discurile de Xbox Series sunt recunoscute pe Xbox One
- daca jocul face parte din programul Xbox Play Anywhere, atunci varianta digitala poate fi jucata pe PC
- daca jocul poate fi jucat pe Cloud Gaming, atunci varianta digitala poate fi jucata pe Cloud Gaming
- mesaj eroare "This disc doesn’t support a digital license" - "damaged disc, the digital license of the game being delisted, or technical limitations of the disc"
- mesaj eoare "We couldn’t give you a digital license" - "unable to grant you a digital license at the current time"
- mesaj eroare "Disc license unavailable" - "the game you’ve inserted is not participating in disc to digital licensing so you cannot be granted a digital license for that game"
- licenta digitala este revocata daca discul este folosit pe alta consola - "On your XBOX, press the XBOX button and go to My games & apps > See all. Next go to Manage > Customize games & apps and go to the section labeled View games you no longer have access to through disc to digital licensing. Clicking View games here will launch a browser and website that may require a sign-in to see digital licenses you no longer have access to."
- in cazul jocurile ce au pe disc add-ons nu este garantat ca primesti licenta si pentru acele add-ons
- pentru jocurile ce sunt pe mai multe discuri, doar primul disc este necesar

Jocurile Ubisoft inca nu sunt "eligibile" aparent si din cate vad nici cele Fromsoft. Inca e pentru beta insiders, deci vom vedea.

Foarte interesant ca Deadpool functioneaza, dar alte jocuri delistate din motive de licenta nu. Amazing Spider-man 2 avand eroare la instalarea de disc aparent da eroare si cand incerci sa-l inregistrezi ca joc disc to digital. Jocurile Forza delistate nu functioneaza din motive de licenta aparent.
